The Bishop of Rochester Academy is a Church of England school where everyone works and learns within its caring and supportive Christian ethos. The Academy opened in September 2010 and has a community of around 1,200 students plus a growing Sixth Form. It serves mainly the area of Chatham within the Medway towns and we demonstrate that we are at the 'heart of the community'.
Our Academy 'Sponsors' - Rochester Diocesan Board of Education, Canterbury Christ Church University and Medway Council - support us in our focus on raising educational standards and creating opportunities for the young people of Medway to achieve their full potential and to excel, with aspirations for all students to continue into further or higher education whether with an academic or vocational direction.
We provide an innovative and challenging curriculum which emphasises achievement and high expectations of, and for, all our students. Our exam results are set to increase year on year.
This is a particularly exciting time for the Bishop of Rochester Academy as we have moved in to our stunning £23 Million new building. This will provide an exceptional learning environment in which to work and learn, with state-of-the-art facilities for all students and staff.
